None of the recent mainstream media hype about the killing of Osama Bin Laden tends to make mention of the billions in cash, weapons and training the USA provided to him and the other fundamentalist Mujahideen to overthrow the secular PDPA government of Afghanistan between 1978 and 1992. Come and hear the rest of the story- a radical history of Afghanistan and of the monster spawned by ruthless US imperial foreign policy.The evening begins with film screening 'rethink afghanistan' from 6:30pm followed by feature discussion at 7:45pm. There will be a cheap tasty meal available from 6:30 but feel free to get you own dinner and get there after the film for the main discussion at 7:45pm.
