Our members come from a variety of ages, occupations and cultural background, some are new to politics while others have been involved in parties as the Labour, the Democratic Socialists, the original Communist Party, as well as anarchist groups. Socialist Alliance is committed to Socialist Unity.

We have NSW electoral registration and while we have run in elections we emphasis people's activism.
We are active in groups and issues such as Newcastle No War Collective, the community campaign against Howard’s WorkChoices legislation, refugee rights, women’s rights, young people's activism such as Resistance and distributing alternative media, such as the newspaper Green Left Weekly.

We share a commitment to working people’s and socialist unity in the fight against capitalism and Howard.As well as meeting monthly we have regular film showing and public forums, Join the SA email list for regular updates by emailing sa-newcastle@yahoogroups.com.
